SEO requires a lot of time, effort, and patience, usually with the help of an external specialist. However, we sometimes find that there is a limited budget, or the urge to do SEO yourself, and this is perfectly fine! In this blog, you will find some easy SEO techniques and tools to start building a strong foundation in Google search results.

SEO SERP Simulator

Pixels all the way, metadata is no longer measured in characters!

Gone are the days of measuring meta titles and descriptions in characters. The length of your title tag and descriptions are now measured in pixels, so you need a few free tools to go and check what you’ve got to change.

This is one of my favourite tools, and the best part, it's free! You can input the metadata that you want to try out, and it will tell you if it's too short, or too long, and even show you how it will look on Google search results when it's live.

Metadata is SEO 101 and can help you climb up the search results page for your target products or services.

SEO META IN 1 CLICK

Don’t forget the heading structures!

Google doesn’t see your beautiful website the way we do - it can’t see the pretty pictures and fonts that you’ve carefully picked out. All Google can see is code, this is why you need to make life as easy as possible for Google and help it understand what each page on your website is about.

Headings help Google understand your content, so don’t overlook this step when posting a new page or piece of content. I know that most people already know about heading structures and how important they are, but do you know how to check it?

This tool is such a great quick way to check that the changes you have made are live on the site and visible to Google, and saves you from having to plow through lines of code to check that everything is correct!

Google Analytics 4

GA is a fundamental tool for tracking website traffic, user behaviour, and performance metrics. With some greatly robust reporting features, Google Analytics provides great insights into website performance, keyword effectiveness, and audience demographics, enabling agencies to refine their SEO strategies based on data-driven analysis.

If you don’t yet have access to your GA4, you must start using it ASAP to understand your customer data and tailor your marketing strategy accordingly.

SiteBulb

Sitebulb is a tool that is becoming increasingly popular in 2024 and is one that I use myself. It is a desktop-based website crawler and SEO auditing tool designed to provide insights into the technical SEO aspects of a website. Some of my favorite features of this tool include:

  • Fast website crawling

  • Detailed error reports

  • Overall website health

  • SEO errors

  • Security Errors

  • Data visualisation feature

  • Side-by-side report comparison

Sitebulb is what all other technical analysis tools want to be; it allows you to compare historical data in a way that is easy to understand, and keeps all historical data so you never have to look for your audits again. This tool is something you should have in your arsenal if you want to ensure that your website is healthy and has achieved its full potential.
